MARJI GERE

Some say Marji is from Iowa, but she will insist that she was raised among orphan donkeys in the village of Vouni in the Troodos Mountains of Cyprus. After her cup of coffee and morning stroll under the live oaks, she whiles away the hours caressing plastic milk jugs, making animal sounds with five year olds, and imagining completely orange worlds with third graders. She caps off most evenings with an ecstatic episode of violin playing and a fish taco from either Maria Selma or Pueblito on Richmond Avenue in Houston.
